Morocco’s OCP to Build Fertilizer Plants in India and Rwanda

Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Morocco’s Office Cherifien de Phosphate (OCP), will be building two fertilizer plants, one in India and another one in Rwanda.

Regarding the first plant, it came to life following of a 50:50 joint venture with Indian fertilizer manufacturer Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited’ (KRIBHCO).

This large-scale fertilizer plant will be located in Krishnapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. It will require an initial investment of approximately $230M and will have an annual production capacity of 1.2 MT of NPK fertilizers.

Regarding the second plant in Rwanda, a memorandum of understanding was signed during King Mohammed VI’s visit to the country by OCP officials and the Rwandan ministry of agriculture, with figures regarding this investment expected to be unveiled in the upcoming months.
