Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- A couple of false propaganda images (photo underneath) and videos (featured video above) are currently circulating on the internet and Facebook pages.

The photos and videos posted by those Facebook pages date back to 2011 and were recorded in the wake of the 2011 Arab spring protests in Al Hoceima, not of the recent very peaceful protests that took place last weekend (including today in Al Hoceima) across the Moroccan kingdom.

We would like to stress that no acts of vandalism have been witnessed.

It is not clear yet who is behind this smear and lie campaign, which clearly aims to sow unrest and distrust amongst the Moroccan people who have shown a high level of maturity and consciousness in taking to the streets and protested peacefully.

Imigas similar to this one has been shared on Facebook, images that date back to 2011

We urge the Moroccan people to counter every attempt by anyone trying to share, either consciously or unawarely, such propaganda on the net.
