Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The Moroccan authorities will be investigating with 8 people, from which 7 were arrested, in connection with the death of Mohcine Fikri.

The list of arrested people includes a Qaed’s aid (Khlifa in Arabic), a veterinarian, the garbage lorry’s driver, 2 dustmen, and 2 representatives of Morocco’s Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries in Al Hoceima.

A Local aid (Qaed) was not arrested, but will nevertheless be investigated in a privileged way, namely through the privileged Judicial law (مسطرة الامتياز القضائي).

This brings up the total people currently investigated to 11, a number which includes 3 of the late’s friends.

The Moroccan government condemned the incident and vowed that an investigation would be held to “determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy and punish those responsible”.

Morocco’s Minister of Interior said last Sunday that “no one had the right to treat him like this…. We cannot accept officials acting in haste, anger or in conditions that do not respect people’s rights.”
