Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The African Bank said in a statement on the sidelines of the on door COP22 event, to be held from November 7 to 18, 2016 in Marrakech, that this event is an African COP, not just a Moroccan one, further noting that an Africa Pavillon will be erected in the wake of the event to honor Africa.

The leading African banking institution added that the event will be “held on the African continent, one of the most vulnerable regions in the world to the disastrous consequences of climate change.”

The “successor to COP21, which resulted in the historic Paris Agreement in December 2015, COP22 is intended to be the COP of action,” the African Bank stressed.

“As in every year, an Africa Pavilion will be erected on the site – in the blue area – to host debates, conferences and discussions. The Africa Pavilion is also a meeting place for leading figures, politicians and diplomats, in addition to experts on climate issues specific to Africa, representatives of civil society, and others,” the African Bank closed.
