Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- According to an unnamed French intelligence official, interviewed by Moroccan Magazine Telquel, it is thanks to Morocco that the French authorities arrested recently the seven men that were planning a long-planned terror attack in France.

Six of the seven people arrested were unknown to the French authorities, and it was thanks to the information provided by “a partner country” about a Moroccan citizen that France was able to nab the plotters, according to Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve, who said that the arrests followed an eight-month-long investigation and enabled France “to prevent a long-planned terror attack,” further stressing that the terrorists planned a “coordinated attack aimed to hit several sites simultaneously.”

The Moroccan citizen had been flagged to the French authorities by Morocco, the unnamed French intelligence official told Moroccan magazine Telquel.

This is not the first time that Morocco’s intelligence provides meaty information to help avert terrorist acts in France.

Last year, the Moroccan authorities traveled to Paris and Brussels and provided information about the whereabouts of Abaaoud, the alleged mastermind behind the November 2015 Paris terrorist attacks that left more than 130 people dead.
