Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Moroccan political analyst Abderrahim Manar Slimi said that the recent maneuvers of the Polisario front, backed by Algeria, following an escalating situation currently taking place between polisario militias and the Moroccan authorities in Guergarat, in the buffer zone, are actions that came to torpedo the Morocco-Nigeria gas pipeline project.
The polisario maneuvers according to the Moroccan political analyst aim to send to shreds the would-be 4,000 kilometers pipeline, expected to cross West African coastal countries of Benin, Togo, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Gambia, Senegal and Mauritania.
The pipeline will have to cross the buffer zone through Morocco, before reaching Europe.
