Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- RENTCafé, a U.S.-based apartment search website conducted this year a research to investigate the cost of renting in the world’s top financial cities.

According to the research Casablanca tops the ranking as it offers the best of both worlds: a competitive business environment and decently-priced rental housing.

The U.S.-based apartment search website said that “Casablanca is the cheapest financial city for renters with apartments commanding $820 on avg., half of London’s rents and 4 times less than the cost of an apartment in NYC.”

“London may have beaten New York City as the world’s leading financial center, but when it comes to the cost of housing, NYC is still king. The avg. rent for a 1-bedroom apartment in NYC is now $3,680, twice the cost of a similar apartment in UK’s financial behemoth,” RENTCafé’s research unveiled.

“Renters in Hong Kong shell out a hefty $2,740/mo. for a 1-bedroom apartment, making it the 4th most expensive financial city in the world to live for renters,” the research said.
