Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The head of Morocco’s Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations, Abdelhak Al Khayam, said in an interview given to France 24 Arabic that from 1623 Moroccans who joined the ragging battlefield in the Middle East to support NISIS (the Not-Islamic State of Iraq and Syria), around 400 have perished, further noting that around 100 polisario members from the Tindouf camps in Algeria joined NISIS.

“Moroccans have joined various factions, not just Daesh,” Al Khayam said.

“From our figures, exactly 78 Moroccans returned back to the kingdom,” the head of the BCJI stressed.

Al Khayam said that Morocco has excellent cooperation agreements with various European countries, especially with France, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, hoping in the meantime that the cooperation agreement with Algeria can finally take off.

Al Khayam also said that, according the BCIJ’s investigations, around 100 members of the polisario front have joined Daesh, stressing that he hopes Morocco and Algeria could cooperate more on this.

The head of Morocco’s BCIJ failed not in shedding light on the fact that social media platforms help Jihadi recruiters easily brainwash young people and lure them into the nets of NISIS.

“Since the inception of the BCJI in 2015, we dismantled 43 terrorist cells,” Al Khayam went on further to say.
