More than 600 lawyers volunteer to defend Zefzafi and co.

Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- In an unprecedented move in Morocco, more than 600 lawyers and 12 law bodies will be volunteering to defend Nacer Zefzafi and the other arrested Rifi activists, Rashid Belali, the local coordinator of the Defense Body to Defend the Arrested Rifi Activists, said in a statement.

Belali stressed that he expects the number to reach over 1000 volunteering lawyer in the next days, further stressing that 200 lawyers from the actual figures belong to the league of Young Moroccan Lawyers.

According to local reports, the authorities arrested more than 50 activists, from which 28 were transferred to Casablanca.

Nasser Zefzafi, the Rif protests’ most prominent activist, was among those transferred to Morocco’s economical hub.
