Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Concerns have been raised in Morocco by various local human rights organizations following the representative of the public prosecutor acknowledging “notable signs” of torture in the bodies of some arrested Rifi activists.

Some of the activists complained, when being investigated by the judicial police, that they had been beaten in the post gaze of their arrest.

The representative of the public prosecutor acknowledged having seen “the presence of wounds and bruises” in the bodies of some Rifi activists, further stressing that “the activists will be subject to a medical expertise to determine whether they were subject to torture or not.”

The representative of the public prosecutor stressed that “as soon as the results of the medical expertise will be unveiled, appropriate actions will be taken.”
