200 Moroccan journalists demand the immediate release of 7 Journalists arrested in the Rif

Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Around 200 journalists working in different Moroccan papers and online outlets launched a petition asking the Moroccan authorities to immediately release the 7 journalists that were detained on the sidelines of the ongoing Rif protests while covering them.

The 7 arrested journalists are Mohamed Asrihi and Jawad Sabiri from Rif 24, Hocein Al Idrissi from Rif Press, Rabie Ablaq from Badil.info, Abdelali Haddou from Araghi Tv, and El Mortada Iamrachen and Fouad Saidi from Awar Tv.

The 200 journalists are also asking the Moroccan authorities to provide protection and guarantees to all journalists to be able cover the protests without fear of being arrested and subject to any kind of moral or physical violence.
