Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- While protesting on Monday night, as they have been doing almost every night during the month of Ramadan, protesters in Al Hoceima thanked Moroccans who took to the streets of Rabat last Sunday to denounce the arrests of more than 100 Rif activists and to ask for their immediate release.

People shouted slogans to thank Rabat Al Assima, the Arabic word for the capital, as the featured video shows.

“A militant salutations, to Rabat the capital,” people can be heard shouting.

“We don’t want to separate [from Morocco], we want [the fulfillment] of our demands”, protesters shouted as well.

The Moroccan Times estimated, from various bird’s-eye photos, the number of people who took to the streets of Rabat last Sunday to hover around 85 000 people, while Morocco’s official news agency la MAP said only 15000 were present.

The organizers, on the other hand, estimated the numbers to stand a little  over 120000.
