Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Activists in the city of Al Hoceima said that they are planning to organize a huge protest during the Eid day if the authorities decide not to release the detainees before the Muslim’s celebration day.
There is debate among Moroccan political analysts as of whether king Mohammed VI will intervene few days before the Eid to release the detainees through the royal pardon procedure, which he regularly grants to various detainees on national and religious days.
The activists said there is no point in celebrating the Eid while other activists are incarcerated.
Other people in Moroccan cities like Nador and Tangier may also take to the streets during the Eid day.
