Rabat, Morocco(TMT)- Following a witnessed light increase in the price of some products last weekend in various cities in Morocco, as various Moroccans flocked around supermarkets to stock up in fear of a shutdown, the Moroccan authorities have issued warnings that any merchant caught price gouging will be punished severely.

The authorities said that they have already closed the locals of a merchant yesterday in the capital Rabat.

The authorities said that said merchant was caught red-handed price gouging various necessity products.

The Moroccan authorities said that the national stocks of essential goods will last beyond the month of Ramadan, further stressing that there is no need to flock around supermarkets and buy goods in huge quantities.
