Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- A communiqué from Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security, well-known under its French acronym DGSN, said that 11 people were arrested across the kingdom for “undermining public order.”

According to the communiqué, the arrested people shared deceitful information that aims to terrify and create havoc and panic among Moroccans amid the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.

The Moroccan government has also adopted a new draft law that will see any person who spreads wrong information on social media platforms jailed.

The DSGN said that it is painstakingly monitoring social media platforms and will fail not in arresting any person who shares information that aims to sow panic among the population, especially in this critical period.
