Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The European Union will donate in the next few days 450 million euros to Morocco, to help the North Africa kingdom curb the coronavirus outbreak.

The aid pledged by the EU to Morocco comes as part of the “multidimensional cooperation agreement” between Morocco and the EU body.

Details of EU’s pledged help were discussed yesterday in a phone call between Morocco’s Foreign Affairs Minister Nasser Bourita and the Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement at the EU, Oliver Varhelyi.

150 million euros will be directly funneled to Morocco’s fund to combat the coronavirus.

The remaining 300 mln will be allocated to help Morocco’s economy stand the financial repercussions of the pandemic.
