Coronavirus: Moroccan dirham loses record 5% ground to euro

Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- On the sidelines of the ongoing economic crisis witnessed around the world due to the coronavirus outbreak, the Moroccan Dirham has witnessed in the matter of a week a depreciation of around 5% of its value in comparison to a week before.

One week ago, only two days after the start of the shutdown in most European countries, the Euro has traded at MAD 10.5 DHS, while today it is trading at around 11.05 DHS.

This is the highest trading value witnessed in the last two years between the two currencies.
