Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Despite Morocco’s Islamic council of Ulemas and the International Council of Muslim Ulemas issuing fatwas that strictly forbid believers from praying in mosques and religious centers amid the coronavirus outbreak, the Italian police have caught 10 Moroccans red-handed praying in secret yesterday the Aljoumouaa prayer (Friday’s prayer) in a religious center in Catanzaro, south of Italy.

Among them was even a person who was supposed to be self-isolating at home as he met last week a person who tested positive.

The Italian authorities arrested the culprits and stressed they will be also subject to a heavy monetary fine for transgressing the state of emergency measures.
