Rabat, Morocco (TMT)-  In a bet to address the low testing capacity for the coronavirus, the Moroccan Ministry of Health said 6 more university hospitals will start performing COVID-19 tests across the kingdom in the few upcoming days.

The hospitals in question are CHU Casablanca, CHU Rabat, CHU Oujda, CHU Fès, CHU Marrakech, and CHU Agadir.

This will increase the testing capacity of the country to 9 testing centers.

Until now all tests in the kingdom have been performed in
the Pasteur Institute of Casablanca, Morocco’s National Hygiene Institute, and the military hospital of Rabat.
Morocco has performed until now very few tests in comparison to other countries, with only 7.734 tests having taken place since the unfolding of the outbreak in the kingdom.
