Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Moroccan parliamentarian Omar Balafrej, representing the Democratic Left Federation(FGD), a coalition of three left-wing parties, said during his address in the house of representatives in the Moroccan parliament yesterday that he is “very happy to see Morocco achieve self-sufficiency in sanitary equipment such as face masks and other medicine.”

Balafrej said nevertheless that Morocco should try to help African countries first, before exporting to EU countries.

“I hope, if we start exporting those products, that the priority will go to African countries, especially to the Algerian people,” Balafrej said.

To date, Morocco has a production capacity of 5 million face masks per day.
