Report on Saudi Arabia’s Al-Arabiya claims “Morocco is starving its people” amid coronavirus

Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Saudi Arabia is yet again escalating the situation with Morocco, this time featuring today a report on its television channel Al Arabiya, alleging that the Moroccan authorities are “staving its people,” further noting that the situation is so dire that it has triggered “a hunger revolution” in the country.

This goes against the various recent reports on French outlet Le Monde and Spain’s El Pais, which praised the Moroccan authorities’ way of dealing with the pandemic.

Relations between Morocco and Saudi Arabia have been frail since Morocco decided to stop taking part in military action with the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen.

Then relations went from worse to worse when the kingdom refused to take sides with the Saudi-UAE coalition against Qatar, amid the Qatar diplomatic crisis.
