Tangier, Morocco (TMT)- As the number of infected people with COVID-19 stands at the time of writing at 491 in Morocco’s Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, the local authorities of the said region decided to turn 12 hotels into COVID-19 shelters.

This will increase the bed capacity of the region, especially that the 12 hotels will only accommodate COVID-19 patients with mild symptoms, a story on Moroccan paper Akhbar Al Yaoum reads.

People who test positive for coronavirus, but show only mild symptoms, will now be offered hotel rooms to isolate themselves, thus decreasing considerably the load on hospitals.

It is worth reminding that many hotels located in the vicinity of hospitals across the kingdom were set aside for hospital workers in a bet to provide a safe haven and shelter to sleep close to their work. This will also not expose their family members to any risk.
