Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Morocco’s Minister of Interior Abdelouafi Laftit said the measures taken to combat the secret killer COVID-19 will be relaxed starting from May 20.

Laftit nevertheless stressed that travel between cities will remain suspended until further notice.

“Suspending cross-city movement has helped curb the transmission rate,” Laftit said.

“We don’t want to restrict the freedom of movement between cities, but given the current juncture, it is a must,” Laftit noted.

Laftit also said that the authorities are currently studying the situation and will shed light on all measures that will be relaxed in the upcoming days, hoping in the meantime that the Moroccan economy will kick-off again, further stressing that “Moroccans should adapt to live with the virus for a long time.”

It is worth reminding that Morocco’s nationwide coronavirus curfew, referred to as “state of health emergency” by the authorities, was extended till May 20.
