Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The High Commission for Planning (HCP) said in a recent report that 16 million Moroccans will contract the novel coronavirus if the authorities decide to end the nationwide curfew, without taking any special measures.

The organism headed by Ahmed Alami Lahlimi projected that the aforementioned number will be reached in 100 days.

The HCP also stressed that if Moroccans do not adhere to the measures introduced by the authorities, despite the lockdown, the infection rate will spike eight folds.

The HCP said that from 36 million Moroccans (total population of Morocco), 1.7 million have underlying health conditions.

The HCP also said 8.4 million may be required to be admitted to a hospital if they contract the secret killer.
