Barcelona are set to lure Roma centre-back and Morocco’s talisman Mehdi Benatia, Mundo Deportivo reported.
The Blaugrana are on the hunt for a new central defender to replace Carles Puyol.
Spanish sports outlet Mundo Deportivo said Barcelona has put Benatia at the top of their wish-list.
The Serie A outfit are said to be reticent to let Benatia go, but Barca will hope to attract them with a €25m.
Barcelona is expected to face harsh competition from Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United, two teams that have expressed huge interests in Benatia as well.
