Former United States ambassador to Morocco and current Moroccan government adviser Mr.Edwardem Gabriel sent his thought to the Nytimes, on the verge of the U.S based media outlet publishing recently the “Gender Inequality in Morocco Continues, Despite Amendments to Family Law” article.

Mr.Gabriel started off saying the article does a great job describing women’s rights progress in Morocco, “slowly but surely, progress is being made, thanks to a real will for reform.”

Former ambassador also shed the light on Morocco’s last migration policy aimed to regulazize 40,000 sub Saharan migrants’ situation in Morocco.

At the end of his reflection on the article, Mr.Gabriel said: “ It’s critical to remember that reform takes time. It is in the United States’ interest to recognize that Morocco is on the right path and to support the country on its journey to democracy.”
