Several Moroccan NGOs have urgently requested both the Moroccan and the Spanish authorities to end their violent and forced displacement of sub-Saharan migrants without any individual legal proceedings. The NGOs also called upon the UN to send international observers to the borders of Ceuta and Melilla, from where the migrants are forcefully displaced.

The Council is composed from the organisation of Sub-Saharan Migrants in Morocco ( CMSM ) , the Group of Support and Defense of Foreigners and Migrants ( GADEM), the East West Foundation of Umm el Banine ( FOO ),  and Earth Rights.

This SOS to respect the lives of migrants comes after a previous one launched on February, following the drowning of 12 sub-Saharan migrants, who were trying to reach over sea the Spanish enclave of Ceuta.
