After the latest escalations regarding the Crimea annexation by the Russian forces, Vladimir Putin called Barack Obama this Friday to talk about the recent “U.S. proposal for a diplomatic resolution for the Ukrainian Crisis” according to the White House.
Obama reiterated that a diplomatic solution is still possible, but only if Russia withdraws its troops and take no further actions that might ” further violate the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.”
The UN Secretary-General, Mr. Ban Ki-moon, said that he had also been assured, by Vladimir Putin, that this latter had “no intention” to invade south or east of Ukraine.
