The Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) has announced, after several long meetings with the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA), the organization of the annual conference “ASTA Destination Expo” in Marrakech on March. ASTA accepted to hold its annual conference in the first Moroccan touristic city after having completed an initial exploratory visit to Marrakech.
ASTA represents and defends the interests of American travel agents since 1931. It has over 7,000 members across all categories of high travel independent agencies, generating around $17 billion annual revenues.
ASTA chooses a different destination each year to host its conference, which is attended by more than 600 of its members, who come to exchange ideas with local tourism professionals to generate business opportunities.
