After rising concerns over the North Korean nuclear threat, Japan’s Defense Minister Itsunori Onodera gave command on thursday to take down any further medium-range missiles shot by North Korea.
This announcement came after North Korea launched two medium-range missiles on March 26th while South Korea, Japan and the U.S. were discussing the growing nuclear threat that North Korea represents.
Pyongyang’s move is considered as a bold one, as it has not fired any short-ranged missiles in four years, which can hit Japan.
After the Defence minister’s order, a destroyer was deployed in Sea of Japan to strike any future North Korea missile that is deemed a threat.
