The Algerian National Public Advertising Agency decided to prevent many Algerian daily news papers from the usual Advertising funds.

The editor in chief of the Francophone algerianews and the Arabophone dzairnews, Mr. Massinissa Boudaoud, confirmed in a recent declaration that “The state has decided to shut us down, because of our openly opposing standing position to the Bouteflika’s fourth mandate”. Mr. Massinisa highlighted “We received on Monday, as usual,  the Advertising funding, before the Advertising Agency calls back to inform us that we would not be funded anymore, following high level strict instructions”. For Mr. Boudaoud, this “indirect shut-down attempts honor our work and confirm our professionalism”.

The Algerian Liberty newspaper reported also that it has been suffering from similar “incorrect methods to influence its editorial”, as the number of funded pages has been drastically reduced from 10 to 4, in medium.
