The son of prominent Dutch politician Arnoud Van Doorn, a former member of Geert Wilders’ anti-Islamic Party for Freedom, accepted Islam.
Doorn, once a harsh critic of Islam, was the man behind the 2008 anti-Islam film Fitna (Sedition), Al-Alam reported.
Doorn’s son, Iskander Amien De Vrie, converted to Islam during the Dubai International Peace Convention. Doorn himself had converted to Islam earlier.
During his Hajj pilgrimage in 2013, Van Doorn had said that he bitterly regrets having taken part in the production of Fitna, adding he was in the holy sites to atone for his sins.
