The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are bigger and faster than the previous versions. Apple CEO Tim Cook announced: “Today, we are launching the biggest advancement in the history of iPhone. They are without a doubt the best iPhones we’ve ever done.”

The two newly released iPhones have bigger screens measuring 12 centimeters and 14 centimeters, up from just 10 centimeters on the iPhone 5S. They also have curved edges and allow for bigger batteries (11 and 14 hours on video watching for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus respectively as opposed to 10 for iPhone 5S).

They also both feature Apple’s new A8 processor, which makes it 25% faster than the iPhone 5S. They also have an M8 co-processor. The camera on the other hand is 8 megapixels and comes with a new sensor that helps the camera focus faster. They run on the new iOS 8 software and feature a new HealthKit application that monitors a couple of health-related information such as sleep, weight,  blood pressure and others.

Apple also unveiled the Apple Watch smartwatch. The watch features many applications focused on health and fitness. It also runs many diverse applications including a map navigation system, a calendar and a music player. It features a magnetic charger and a crown that controls zoom and scrolling with a twist. The watch comes in two different sizes where one is a little bit smaller than the other. It will take advantage of Apple’s tool for controlling the device with voice commands known as Siri. Software developers would be soon able to build applications for the watch: a tool kit will be released by Apple.
