Dubai, Emirates (TMT)- After a mediation by the former UN representative to Yemen, Morocco was be able to recover its pilot’s body remains after that his F-16 jet went down on May 10, 2015.

According to Yemeni news outlet An7a, Morocco has managed to recover the body remains of its pilot Yassine Bahti following the Red Cross delivering the body to the Moroccan authorities.

According to the said source, it is the former UN special envoy to Yemen, Mr Jamal Benomar, a Moroccan citizen, who intervened to allow the Moroccan Royal Armed Forces to recover the body.

The Yemeni media also posted alleged pictures of Red Cross personnel carrying a coffin to a plane (check  photo above)

However these pictures have not been authenticated yet, and the Royal Armed Forces have not yet communicated any news on the repatriation of Yassine’s body.

According to our colleagues from Médias24, and if the news stands reliable, Yassine’s coffin is expected to arrive to Morocco today.
