Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- According to a recent report from Morocco’s central bank “Bank Al-Maghrib,” around 10.914 fake banknotes were circulating in Morocco since the year 2013.

The report came to the conclusion that the 200 DHs banknote remains “the most coveted bill by counterfeiters.”

The fake 200 DHs banknotes represent 44% of the total fake banknotes while the 50 DHs ones represent 21%.

The fake 100 Dhs banknotes, on the other hand, represent 19% of the total fake banknotes, while the remaining percentage, namely 14%, represents the fake 20DHs banknotes taken out of circulation.

The report closed saying that in 2013, only 7681 fake banknotes were taken out of circulation by the Moroccan central bank, against 10.914 this year, which represents an increase of 42%.
