Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Moroccan paper Akhbar Al Yaoum said in its today’s edition that more than 200 U.S. marines are expected to gather in Morocco next April for the annual joint force exercise.

The Moroccan paper said that the U.S. marines are currently in the vicinity of Marbilla, Spain for a training.

Among others, Africa analyst Moussaoui Hajlaoui told the paper that “such exercises are part of the U.S. strategy to confront any prospective challenges or security threats in the Sahel and the North Africa regions.”

The Moroccan analyst expects next month’s training to take place in Tan-Tan and Guelmim.
