Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Hundreds of people, mainly students, took to the streets of Temsaman, located in northeast Morocco, yesterday to protest against what they called “the Moroccan government nonchalance, lack of communication, and neglect” in the wake of the recurrent seismic rebounds the region has witnessed.

The protesters called on the authorities “to provide them with tents and means to protect themselves from potential disasters that may hit the region, especially following the recurrent seismic rebounds the north of Morocco has been witnessing lately.”

Protesters warned of “a humanitarian tragedy that may take place in the future,” stressing that “many public institutions and houses suffered damages, including cracks on walls, in the aftermath of the earthquakes, and seismic rebounds, that hit the region.”
