Casablanca, Morocco (TMT)- Around 29 people were injured, among which 5 were severely wounded, following a cement truck colliding with a tram yesterday in Ain Diab, Casablanca.
The collision occurred at around 7:00 pm local time.
An investigation was launched and, according to the initial results, it seems that the cement truck’s brakes were defective.
The truck hit in full speed the tram, which lead to this latter’s derailment, leading to a temporary shutdown of said tramway line.
The 29 wounded were taken in expedition by Morocco’s civil protection elements to the hospitals of Hay Hassani and Ibn Rushd.
Said line resumed operating normally at 7:45 pm.
