Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The secretary general of the Rally of National Independents, Aziz Akhannouch, answered back Morocco’s Justice and Development’s last week communiqué stressing that they “cling to the USFP party.”

In its last weekend’s communiqué, the PJD said that a would-be government coalition will only include the parties that took part of the former one, meaning that they are categorically against Aziz Akhannouch negotiating on behalf of the UC and USFP parties, further adding that they expect from Akhanouch an answer on whether he wants to join the government coalition or not, not to negotiate on behalf of other parties.

Akhannouch said last weekend during a party rally held in Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane, ” We are with Mr Abdellilah Benkirane, the head of government, in joining his government coalition.”

“We want to work with him. We want to work with him with a comfortable majority,” Akhannouch said.

Among others, Akhanouch noted that “if I am not with the USFP (in the government coalition), things will be difficult for me,” before stressing that “we cling to the USFP party.”

“They [PJD] issued a communiqué showing clearly their standpoint. But we also have a clear standpoint on this,” Akhannouch noted.
