Moroccan Ministers donate one month’s salary to coronavirus special fund

Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Following the creation of the coronavirus special fund, aimed at combatting the virus in the north African kingdom, Moroccan ministers decided to donate one month of their salary to the said fund, while Moroccan parliamentarians decided to donate one-third of their salary.

The Moroccan head of government Saadedine El Othmani said in a statement that King Mohammed VI gave his directives today to open the fund, further stressing that all ministers, in response to the monarch decision, “decided to donate the equivalent of one month salary to the fund.”

Morocco’s Office Chérifien des Phosphate Group (OCP), the world’s leading producer and exporter of phosphates in all forms and an essential player on the fertilizers market, issued a statement today as they donated MAD 3 million to the coronavirus fund.
