Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- A huge controversy has been triggered on social media platforms as many Moroccans were caught complaining about the decision of the Italian government to cremate deceased Muslims amid the outbreak of the coronavirus.

Nevertheless, the aforementioned is all but true and can be categorized as fake news.

Indeed a Shia leader that goes by the name Waseem Rizvi, Shia Central Waqf Board chairman, said that if a Muslim dies due to coronavirus, then he should be cremated to kill the virus, not buried, but this story has nothing to do with Muslims in Italy and his statements have been criticized even by Shia Muslims, let alone Sunni ones.

Muslims in Italy, whether Moroccan, Bangladeshi or of any other origin are buried Islamically, though many precautions are being taken when cleaning, then burring them, as the above-featured images we received from a Moroccan living in Italy illustrate.
