Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- With almost no tourists traveling to Morocco’s desert city Merzouga in the last few weeks, and with all sound pollution that goes with entertainment activities for tourists abruptly stopping, the white Fennec foxes are claiming back their natural habitat.

The general manager of the Ksar Bicha hotel in Merzouga, Ali Oubassidi, was caught jovial to witness the coming back of the beautiful white foxes around the city’s dunes, despite not being able to generate revenues for his hotel in this period.

In a Facebook post, he said that “in the wake of all sporting events not taking place following Chinese and European tourists deserting the city (due to the coronavirus outbreak), and especially with no more Quad bike desert racing and other similar activities taking place, the first inhabitants of the dunes of Merzouga are back and they are offering you a little kiss. They are telling you: thank you Corona. The misfortune of some makes the happiness of the fauna and flora.”

The man took a couple of videos and photos with his drone and shared them on his Facebook page, showing fennec foxes coming back in numbers to their natural habitat.
