New York (TMT)- Following the controversy surrounding Donald Trump retweeting a post demanding the firing of Dr. Anthony Faucy, one of the lead members of the United States Coronavirus Task Force in the US, White House spokesman Hogan Gidley said today Trump won’t fire Dr. Fauci.

“This media chatter is ridiculous – President Trump is not firing Dr. Fauci,” Gidley stressed.

“Dr. Fauci has been and remains a trusted adviser to President Trump,” Gidley added.

Trump looked to play down the incident during yesterday’s evening coronavirus briefing, referring to Fauci as a “wonderful guy”.

According to the latest polls in the US, Fauci enjoys a good reputation among his compatriots.

Regarded as a trustworthy figure, Fauci has received a better ranking in the latest polls than the US president himself.
