Morocco: Over 210,000 Companies Created in Three Months

Casablanca, Morocco (TMT)- The Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property has unveiled a comprehensive report revealing a remarkable surge in business activity in Morocco. During the initial three-month period of this year, an astounding total of 210,176 companies have been created.

The report categorizes these companies into two groups: legal entities, comprising 88,461 companies, and self-employed individuals, totaling 121,715 companies.

The commercial sector emerges as the dominant force, representing a significant 43.98% of the overall establishments. It is followed by the construction and real estate sectors, which together account for 15.92% of the total. Other thriving sectors include miscellaneous services (12.81%), industries (8.94%), transportation (7.17%), hotels and restaurants (5.15%), information and communication technology (3.98%), agriculture and fishing (1.40%), and financial activities (0.66%). In terms of legal structure, 48.5% of the new companies are limited liability, while 45.3% are single-member limited liability companies. Unnamed companies make up 4.2%, collective name companies account for 1.6%, and branches constitute 0.3%.

Turning our attention to regional distribution, the Casablanca-Settat region leads the way with 61,637 newly established companies. It is followed by the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region with 28,339 companies and the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region with 25,098 companies. Other notable regions include Marrakech-Safi (20,315), Fes-Meknes (19,800), Oriental (15,846), Souss-Massa (13,229), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (7,792), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (7,764), Draa-Tafilalet (5,367), Guelmim-Oued Noun (2,516), and Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab (2,455), all contributing to the dynamic entrepreneurial landscape of Morocco.
