Maroc Telecom reported a customer base of 75.4 million in 2022, indicating a 1.6 percent increase from the previous year. This growth was primarily driven by the expansion of the group’s international branches in Africa.

In terms of mobile phone customers within Morocco, there was a decrease of 3.3 percent, resulting in a total of 19.3 million customers in 2022 compared to 2021.

The landline phone (fixed-line) sector experienced a decline of 2.2 percent in one year, with a total of over 1.9 million lines by the end of 2022. On the other hand, the broadband customer base reached 1.7 million, largely due to the increase in Fiber to the Home (FTTH) lines, which grew by 44 percent compared to 2021.

In the international branches, the mobile phone customer base reached 52 million and 17 thousand customers, distributed across several countries including Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Mali, Chad, Benin, Niger, Mauritania, Togo, Gabon, and Central Africa. The fixed-line customer base in these branches totaled 357 thousand subscribers, while the fixed broadband (internet) base reached 157 thousand customers.
