The appeal court in Marrakech has ruled against the decision of the Bar Association to raise the membership fees for new lawyers, exorbitant fees which experts believe was meant to deter many low-income Moroccans from pursuing the lawyer profession.

This decision has mandated the association to review this fee structure and evaluate its legal implications.

Furthermore, this inflated fee structure was seen as compromising the principle of equal opportunity and access to the legal profession, thereby contravening Article 31 of the constitution.
