According to the leading Israeli media outlet Ynetnews, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s driver is accused of “serially raping many young girls under 12.”
Netanyahu’s driver, who goes by the name Ilan Shmuel, is 52 year-old. The rapist had “12 complaints made against him, the police said.”
According to said source, his name was only revealed recently as the Israeli authorities asked last Thursday to publish his name, hoping that the move will “encourage additional victims to come forward.”
“Police also said Shmuel had admitted some but not all of the charges against him,” the aforementioned source added.
“The serious allegations are being investigated by police as we speak,” his lawyer Mr. Levy said, adding that Shmuel denies “the majority of the offenses, admits to some of the allegations and regrets them.”
Netanyahu’s Office was reported to have said that “the driver has not been part of Netanyahu’s motorcade for more than six months. The Office was informed of the investigation in March and was advised to place Shmuel on leave.”
Ynetnews said that Netanyahu’s driver is also “suspected of raping members of his own family over a period of many years.”
