The former Juventus boss Antonio Conte has signed a 2 years contract with the Football Federation (FIGC) to coach the Italian National Team.

Leaving the first round of the world cup for the second time in a row made both the coach Prandelli and the president of the FIGC Giancarlo Abete resign from their positions

Shortly after the FIGC voting committee assigned Carlo Taveccio as the new president of the Italian football Federation, the official website of the FIGC stated the following:

“President (Carlo) Tavecchio and Antonio Conte spoke directly by phone to define the final aspects of the collaboration that will bind Antonio Conte to the FIGC until July 31, 2016.’’

The FIGC continued: “The contract between the FIGC and Antonio Conte provides compensation in line with the cost of the previous management, with a bonus for qualifying for Euro 2016, an added bonus in case of improvement of at least five places in the FIFA rankings, and a third bonus in case of participation at the Euro 2016 finals.”

The first reason of choosing Antonio Conte came after he drove Juventus to a third consecutive title last season, the first time the club had achieved the feat since a five-season title run in the 1930s. The second reason of choosing the “philosopher” was because most of the starting eleven of the national Italian team consists of Juventus players. Antonio conte will not find difficulties to transfer his juventuni methodology to the Italian national team.
