It took only 15 minutes of heavy rain falls last Sunday to flood parts of the Moroccan city of Fnideq, located 5km away from the Ceuta enclave.

The flood lead to the closure of many local roads.

No casualties were reported but various cases of cars damaged from flood water were reported by locals.

Various videos and images on social media, especially on Facebook, featured vehicles floating around in muddy floodwaters.

Some Internet users said that the corruption in the city’s infrastructure was the main reason behind the flood, especially that Ceuta, located only five minutes away from Fnideq and administrated by Spain, witnessed the same heavy rain falls, yet no floods at all.
