A brief statement on Fifa’s Twitter account confirmed that Morocco will be hosting the 2014 Club World Cup on schedule.

Rumors spread on social media had it that Morocco may not be able to host the Clubs World Cup as the Moroccan authorities canceled recently the Africa Cup of Nations due to fears of Ebola spread, “which means they may cancel the World cup as well,” the rumor went on.

However, FIFA said on its official twitter account yesterday that “The 2014 Club World Cup will take place in Morocco and all preparations continue as planned,” ending all speculations and rumors.

It is worth reminding that Morocco refused to host the African Cup of Nations from January 17 to February 8, 2015, as African supporters who will flock from all African countries to Morocco may unconsciously carry the Ebola epidemic, and then spread it when mixing up with other supporters.  Morocco keeps stressing that “the decision was dictated by serious health risks linked to the epidemic of Ebola.”
